Press release | Paris, March 9th 2026

The firm Nomos announces the appointment of Sylvain Naillat as Partner within its IP-Tech-Media team, which now comprises four partners and a total of ten lawyers. Effective January 1st, 2026, this promotion reflects and reinforces the team’s growing capabilities in handling highly technology-driven matters.

A practice covering Data protection, Cybersecurity and AI

Having joined Nomos in 2015, Sylvain Naillat has developed in-depth expertise in Data & Cybersecurity, both in advisory and litigation matters, alongside Hélèna Delabarre, Partner in charge of the practice. He has notably represented major e-commerce players in enforcement proceedings before the CNIL (French Data Protection Authority), in cases considered among the most complex of recent years.

His practice also includes the strategic support of French and international clients on legal issues relating to Artificial Intelligence and technology regulation, particularly in the context of evolving European legislation (AI Act, Data Act, Data Governance Act), as well as the structuring and regulatory compliance of innovative technology projects.

Sylvain Naillat’s expertise is particularly sought after in cutting-edge sectors such as AdTech (online advertising), MarTech (marketing technologies) and connected devices (IoT). He also assists with the deployment of e-commerce platforms and digital services, addressing cross-cutting issues in technology law and intellectual property.

Rooted in the historical DNA of Nomos’ IP-Tech-Media team, Sylvain Naillat also handles complex matters combining Intellectual Property and Cultural Industries. In particular, working alongside Eric Lauvaux, he contributed to securing the first French court decision aimed at combating streaming fraud in the music industry, setting a significant precedent for the sector. He also advises creative industries and technology stakeholders on analysing and managing challenges related to artificial intelligence, including intellectual property, personal data protection, and the application of European AI regulation.

An international profile

Admitted to the Paris and California Bars, Sylvain Naillat brings a dual legal perspective that is essential in a globalized technology sector. He holds a Master’s degree (Master 2) in Literary, Artistic and Industrial Property Law from Université Paris II Panthéon-Assas (2012) and an LL.M. in International and Comparative Law from Chicago-Kent College of Law (2013).

“Sylvain has distinguished himself from the outset through his sharp understanding of innovation-related challenges and his remarkable ability to handle highly technical matters. We are delighted to see him continue his journey with us as a Partner. His appointment is a natural culmination of his outstanding career path. It is also part of a broader development plan for our team, following the arrival in October 2025 of Julien Grosslerner and his associates to further strengthen our media practice.”Hélèna Delabarre, Partner.

“I am honored to join the partnership of Nomos, the firm that trained me. My ambition is to continue structuring and expanding the Tech-Data practice within an IP-Tech-Media team now comprising 10 lawyers, in order to address the growing challenges of digital sovereignty and technological innovation.”— Sylvain Naillat, Partner.
